Hirers\u2019 Responsibilities<\/b><\/h2><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Organisations or individuals hiring the Hall for activities involving children or vulnerable adults must:<\/span><\/p><ul><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Provide a copy of their Safeguarding Policy before their first booking<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Ensure their staff and volunteers have valid Enhanced DBS checks if engaged in regulated activities.<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Appoint a Safeguarding Lead responsible for their event.<\/span><\/li><\/ul><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">For private hirers: The management committee is not responsible for the supervision of children or vulnerable adults during private bookings. It is the hirer\u2019s responsibility to ensure safeguarding measures are in place.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Under the Licensing Act 2003:<\/span><\/p><ul><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Alcohol must not be sold to under-18s.<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Film screenings must follow the age classification system (BBFC ratings).<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">No gambling or adult entertainment is allowed on the premises.<\/span><\/li><\/ul><h2><b>8. Supervision of Vulnerable Users<\/b><\/h2><ul><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The management committee will take reasonable steps to keep the Hall safe for vulnerable users.<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Where activities involve multiple hirers, each hirer must ensure adequate supervision of children and vulnerable adults, particularly when using shared spaces (e.g., toilets and corridors).<\/span><\/li><\/ul><h2><b>9. Hirers\u2019 Responsibilities<\/b><\/h2><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Organisations or individuals hiring the Hall for activities involving children or vulnerable adults must:<\/span><\/p><ul><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Provide a copy of their Safeguarding Policy before their first booking<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Ensure their staff and volunteers have valid Enhanced DBS checks if engaged in regulated activities.<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Appoint a Safeguarding Lead responsible for their event.<\/span><\/li><\/ul><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">For private hirers: The management committee is not responsible for the supervision of children or vulnerable adults during private bookings. It is the hirer\u2019s responsibility to ensure safeguarding measures are in place.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Under the Licensing Act 2003:<\/span><\/p><ul><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Alcohol must not be sold to under-18s.<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Film screenings must follow the age classification system (BBFC ratings).<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">No gambling or adult entertainment is allowed on the premises.<\/span><\/li><\/ul><h2><b>8. Supervision of Vulnerable Users<\/b><\/h2><ul><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The management committee will take reasonable steps to keep the Hall safe for vulnerable users.<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Where activities involve multiple hirers, each hirer must ensure adequate supervision of children and vulnerable adults, particularly when using shared spaces (e.g., toilets and corridors).<\/span><\/li><\/ul><h2><b>9. Whistleblowing Policy<\/b><\/h2><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">If a volunteer, hirer, or member of the public suspects wrongdoing, abuse, or safeguarding failures, they should:<\/span><\/p><ul><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Report concerns to the Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL).<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">If necessary, escalate to:<\/span><ul><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"2\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Local Authority Safeguarding Team<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"2\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">NSPCC (0808 800 5000)<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"2\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Charity Commission Serious Incident Reporting (for trustees)<\/span><\/li><\/ul><\/li><\/ul><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">No one will be penalised for reporting genuine concerns.<\/span><\/p><h2><b>10.
